6月17日零晨乘搭Asia Airline前往首爾開展我們三日兩夜的韓國之旅!

首先乘搭機場巴士6015直接抵達PJ Hotel 附近。一下車有點迷失方向,但得到一個超級好心的韓國人幫忙帶路,初時以為她是在PJ Hotel 工作的,但後來才知道她是特地帶我們去的...超感動...在香港有人彩你先奇。

因太早未能check in,放下行李後,先去汗蒸幕三溫暖洗個澡:)! 我們去的是比較地道的三溫暖場,旅遊書通常不會介紹這一間,但它可是出現在Dream High的其中一集的啊~ 此三溫暖場勝在夠大和便宜(忘了價錢,但比明洞的便宜多了)。設有不同氣味的三溫暖房間,還有公眾暖地板跟熱石床供人免費睡覺!我們當然是去洗個澡後再去熱石房間睡個覺咯~

中午時份去明洞逛逛跟吃魬!當然是去上年去過很好吃的Yoogane 柳家鐵板雜炒雞肉店啦~

逛了一會我們轉戰南大門,在Doota頂層看到香港沒有的Froyo Store - Red Mango! 當然不能放過!

逛到晚上9點多肚子餓了,跑去對面的紅帳幕大排檔吃晚飯去! 

再回doota血拼一番後回酒店休息便結束了疲乏的第一天了。

Last year when I was shopping in Myeongdong, I passed by Yoogane and saw a pizza looking fried rice on an iron plate through the restaurant's window. I dined in and absolutely like it. So this time I went back again for their lovely Chicken Galbi Fried Rice!

Yoogane worked by choosing the main ingredients on the menu, then ordered sides such as rice, noodles, dokboki (rice cakes) according to your choice. What's more, you can mixed different main ingredients together if you have a big group dinning in. It looked it is a DIY frying house, but no worries as the waiter will cook it for you. (I guess its because we are foreigners?)

1) Marinated Chicken Galbi & Assorted Seafood WON 24,000
Add Dokboki (Rice cake) WON 3000 

The portion is designed for 2-3 people, but you could definitely added extra ingredients to make it big. The dokboki was super yum, soft and chewy. The thick noodles, wudon was too soft in texture. The Octopus Head was amazingly juicy and chewy, so was the other parts of the Octopus. The Chicken Galbi was tasteful. I added cheese as well, but it didn't really fuse nicely with the wudon. It still tasted good though.

2) Marinated Seafood Fried Rice WON 5000 
Add Processed Cheese WON 2000 

The first plate couldn't satisfy us four piggies, and I wasn't quite satisfy on the wudon as it tasted bad and the wudon couldn't make the pizza-like rice that I had last year. So we ordered a fried rice instead but in a smaller portion. Seafood were fried together with the rice, while the cheese were added last and covered with the fried rice. Next everything were pressed down together so a pizza-like look was resulted. We ordered 2 people portion so the rice couldn't filled the iron plate as below picture, but you sort of get what I mean right?

It turned out the fried rice tasted so much better than the wudon! Korea's rice grains are fatter than Chinese rice and the texture was pretty nice and chewy. The rice was fried until dry so the rice grains could separate with each other totally. With cheese added, each bite of the rice tasted heavenly palatable! The octopus still tasted nice and chewy but the shrimp was a bit small in size.

There are a lot of Yoogane stores in Seoul and they are all located in popular area as well. I guess the restaurant was a popular choice in Korea as it is always nearly full house. I have tried Yoogane in both Namdaemun and Myeongdong, and I personally reckon the store in Myeongdong tasted much better than the one in Namdaemun. If you happens to be around in Korea, I highly recommend you come try this restaurant out!

A random Korean taught me how to do towel bun!
熱石場,香氛房,三溫暖,公眾休息室,食堂!

常看韓劇主角們常常弄的一個好想精靈的包包頭,再這裡看到一些大學生再弄!厚著面皮的走去跟她們問了怎樣弄,還拍了video! 了運來很容易的啊!

還有它的電子鑰匙很厲害喔!首先locker是電動的,還有如果想去食堂時,付款也可以用它的!!

Since the first day I knew the word Froyo, I have been told about Red Mango. While the American says Red Mango tastes so much better than the froyo in HK, Red Mango has no branch in Hong Kong and I could not try it or compare it to any other froyo store in Hong Kong. When I spotted this branch at Doota, I immediately ran into it and had my cup.

The menu said the black currant froyo is new and it is highly recommended. The waitress handed me a cup to try and I liked it. I ordered a medium size which serves with 2 toppings to share with my mum. I chose kiwi and granola. The black currant froyo taste is refreshing, but the texture is similar to Yomama's froyo which was creamy and not tarty at all. I was a bit disappointed about that. The strawberry sauce and the granola went well with the froyo, hereas the kiwi was apparently a wrong choice since its taste didn't really match with the black currant taste.

I felt contended after having the cup. The portion was pretty generous but it was also a bit pricey when compared to the average in Hong Kong. It was around HKD$70. Anyhow, I am going to the US in Mid November and I want to try the US one and see if there is any difference!

If you watch Korean drama, you will see the Koreans often go to those street stalls under the red tent along the road. These red tent food stalls serve similar functions as Hong Kong's Dai Pai Dang, where nice convenient fast food is served.

The ambiance is one of the main selling point in this red tent stalls. Cosiness and crazily nosy ambiance are what people like about this street stalls. Although the tables were tiny, we had a great time dinning and chattering in there.

1) Sushi Roll (6/10)
Sushi roll is one of my must have item when I go to local Korean restaurant. Although the taste wouldn't differ much from store to store, I just love it. Do you love its look? :)

2) Pig Intestines Served with Vegetables (10/10)
OMG, its one of the B.E.S.T pig intestine I have ever tasted! It was so amazingly done we had it back ordered! The pig intestine was thickly cut and was very fat and chewy. There was no dirty or smelly taste in it but a strong flavourable taste from the nice Korea sauce. The Veggies were also very yum as they had totally absorbed the sauce. This is such a hidden gem, we had it polished in no time!

3) Kimchi Pancake (3/10)
It was quite badly done. The pancake was soggy and the taste was rather flat. Hong Kong's Fu San can do so much better than this.

4) Fried Dokboki (7/10)
The big fat chunk of Dokboki kind of shocked me as I usually have small slim ones. The dokboki was very chewy and was not as soft as the small slim ones. The taste was not strong, perhaps the dokboki was too thick? I generally prefer the typical smaller ones.

5) Soju
I guess Korea is one of the alcoholic city in the world. People drink it day and night for social, business or to keep warm in the freezing winter. As might of the above reasons, soju is a very cheap and famous alcoholic drink in Korea which is around HKD$ 20 approx. It tastes similar to Vokda but is less strong, around 20% I suppose.

To be honest, the food in this kind of red tent isn't particularly amazing, (except the pig intestine which is a hidden gem!) and is rather pricey. Yet I could highly recommend you walk in this kind of street stalls and had a try out to experience the ambiance of the cosiness.
