Teh Bay is where we get off the speed boat
It is worthwhile to spend half a day exploring the Island. It won't cost you much effort to trek around the island on foot as the island is small and the landscape is generally quite gentle. There are four major beaches on the Island. Batok Bay is the one situated within our Resort. Under the influence of summer monsoon, the sea was quite rough there and not suitable for swimming.
On the other hand, you may go to Siam Bay which is just next to Batok Bay. The bay is within the wake of the peninsula, and that's why the water there is clearer and calmer. The beach is a long-stretched one and the sand is very fine-grained. It is an ideal site to take a few great snapshots. However, it is not as good to do snorkeling here.
At Ter Bay where we first landed on the Island, there is a sandy beach with rocky outcrops at both ends. You may see from the beach that there are some coral reefs underwater. While we were taking some great pictures, there were some tourists practicing snorkeling. So, it should be a good snorkeling site.
Kon Kare Bay is another beach within the other resort on the Island. It is a more rocky beach with a lot of outcrops of sedimentary rocks at both sides. The security here is not as high as that in Hong Kong. Perhaps Hongkongers are more squeamish. Hence, it is also enjoyable to browse around this resort. While we were walking along a cliff overlooking the blue sky and sea, we found that there were a lot of butterflies of the same species. If your motion is slow and gentle enough, it won't be difficult to closely record how they play around the little flowers and petals.
