烤香腸 笑臉2010-03-14
We got two Taiwanese sausage from Black Bright retail shop.  They were signature sausage and sticky rice sauage.  It costed us about NT$60 for two. 

Since 黑橋牌's sausage has quality control, we found that it taste much better than those sold on the street.

Peanut 牛奶麻糬 笑臉2010-03-14
Can you believe that 麻糬 can be made without sticky rice or any kind of rice?  麻糬婆婆 makes their 麻糬 by using milk and their own technique!

We ordered an iced 牛奶麻糬 with Peanut in brown sugar sauce (NT$100) and the size is good for two persons.  The staff was patient and explained how to enjoy it with details.  The brown sugar sauce was relatively less sweet than I wish.  The texture of the 牛奶麻糬 was so interesting.  I recommend you guys to try when you visit 淡水 next time.

Funny shop name 青蛙下蛋 ok喇2010-03-14
We didn't buy the 青蛙下蛋 because the name sounds .....
We bought 愛玉加檸檬 (NT$30) which is one of the good choice if you don't want an iced beverage, not so sweet but refreshing.  Since we tried couple pearl milk tea in Xi Men Ting but that was too sweet and too milky, this 愛玉加檸檬 was absolutely the best we had in Taipei.

I love 臺鐵便當 笑臉2010-03-14

One of our colleague recommended us to try the traditional Taiwanese railway lunch box even though we took the 高鐵 instead of 臺鐵.  So, we bought the 高鐵 ticket in THSR station and walked to Taipei Main Station for the signature 臺鐵便當. 

We bought two lunch box - roasted eel on purple rice (NT$80) and deep fried pork chop on rice (NT$60).  Both taste excellent.  Both 便當 have one marinated egg and boiled crawflower or cabbage as side dishes.  It all taste lovely and yummy.  Why people spent almost NT$200 in the expensive food fair on the next floor but not this yummy 便當!?

臭豆腐 street ! 笑臉2010-03-14

Our local colleague recommended us to try this 好家園.  Three peple totally ordered three foods:  fried A 菜 (NT$70), deep fried 臭豆腐 (NT$50), and 臭豆腐鍋 with 豬血 & 豬腸(NT$90).  It taste very good.  The fried A 菜 seems to be a little bit oily but acceptable.  The deep fried 臭豆腐 had excellent texture.  The 臭豆腐鍋 with 豬血 & 豬腸 is an interesting experience. 

it surprise my husband when i told him that i tried 豬血 & 豬腸.....

local food ok喇2010-03-14
There are many choice in Xi Men.  We picked this shop because the shop owner was so friendly.  We ordered 甜不辣 in soup, 魷魚羹, and 魯肉飯 (NT$20).  It totally costed us about NT$150 (forgot the exact amount)

The 甜不辣 was in soup instead of deep fried which disappointed me a little bit. Fortunately, it tasted pretty good.  The turnip taste really sweet and fresh.  The pig's blood cake taste funny but a rare.

I didn't try the 魷魚羹 but my colleague told me that it taste no difference to "Tse Tse 魷魚羹". 

My 魯肉飯 is not bad but too little minced pork and too much sauce on the rice . 

We arrived at 10:30pm and they closed at 11pm.  It was a little bit rush for us to finish the food.
